Selling your home in winter: How to help buyers warm up to your home

Selling your home in the depths of a cold and rainy winter can just take a little more effort to help you clinch a good house sale.

Domain.com.au had Angus Raine, executive chairman of Raine & Horne confirm the old adage  “that the best time to inspect a property is in the winter with pouring rain as then you’re seeing it in its very worst light,” He also says that  “buyers know that if it looks good then, it’s going to be even better the rest of the year, so the bleakest time of year is actually the best.”

By ensuring the house is warm, with the heating on but not stifling, and letting as much sun in as possible, the better it will feel. That might mean pulling up all the blinds, making sure the windows are clean and lopping off any overhanging tree branches that cast shadows..
Another thing that helps enormously is styling your home. You may not be able to do much about your home’s orientation, there are plenty of opportunities  to style it well for a successful winter sale.
